I have decided that i should take off 2 of my proposed strobe sequences out of my final folio. I have a few reasons for this decision and I believe it is for the best.

- My main athletes have dropped out on me for the final 2 photoshoots, although I can get more athletes from the sports i have already photographed which is not the final look i wanted in my folio.

- The athletes I am able to photograph are not as skilled as others and the images may end up unusable purely because style and skill is a main part of this series.

- I already have 3 acrylic prints of the other sequences printing in Melbourne and the turn around is too long to get new ones back before the exhibition.

- Quality over quantity! I now have a series of three strobe sequences I should focus on creating quality images for the rest of my folio.

ps. My crazy unicycle athlete doesn’t own a unicycle anymore =[=[=[

I will continue to try find athlete that will produce the final product i am looking for and hopefully i can get two more shots done in time for printing.

Footwear designs

This is the start of my designs, I want to show the footwear of each individual sports. I want to have one action shot of them wearing the footwear and then one of the worn out product shot.

The action shots will all be shot with my 70-200mm lens to have the same look in each shot and I will light all of them using my speedlights.

All the footwear shots will be done at my work studio (hotshots) shot from the top of a ladder looking down using the 24-70mm lens to all have the exact same lighting and distortions.

Video 2

This is my 2nd video - its a walkthrough on how I light my action sports images.

Night Parkour

Brendan Jones - Kong to Roll

I have flipped this shot horizontally because of the way people read (left to right). This makes the photo a bit more pleasant to look at, I have also taken out some distracting elements in the background.

Blair Wilson - Flag

I really like the simplicity of this shot, by taking everything else out the photo then becomes a bit more abstract and much more appealing to look at.

I wont be using this shot purely because the trick is not refined enough and is a bit sloppy.

Parkour- Blair and Brendan

This was the first time I meet brendan jones, he is an amazing free runner who has been an amazing passion for the sport and supports in it in every way possible.

It was really hard to keep up with these guys as they would just run around everywhere it was really hard to set up a shot in 1 spot without them running off and finding something new to pay around on.

In the end i shot alot of sequences that I am still yet to put together but these two shots were the best ones of the day.

Brendan Jones - wall to powerbox to front flip to roll

I used 2 lights on the right at a lower power to get the fast flash duration and one as a back light. These lights with the afternoon light was perfect and gave a great mood to the image.

Blair Wilson - Kong

The sun was really harsh and strong for this shot which made it really hard to get enough power out the flash to match the exposure of the sunlight. I only used to fully zoomed in twin flashes on the left to get a bit of a rim light on Blair.

Shane Onus Shoot

I am currently shooting a article for be-mag on Shane Onus and here are the first two shots that are going to be submitted

We found this artwork in the middle of the city, as soon as i saw it i knew i needed to shoot this shoot. I ended up putting a speedlight in the TV to simulate the tv being acully on and lighting the group.

I am really happy with the water shot, I had to remove a little bit of distracting bits in the image. It was quite hard re creating the gradient but i got there in the end.
